October 2017 – Arrival Electric Vehicles

Arrival LTD in Banbury ( formerly Charge Automotive ) are the first UK company to offer a production ready electric vehicle solution to replace the use of conventional combustion powered lorries and vans for inner city deliveries, with pricing of their electric trucks in line with current petrol or diesel equivalents.

Trucks built at the Arrival site will range from 3.5-tonnes to 26-tonnes, will be ultra lightweight, autonomous ready, and comply with London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone and proposed Direct Vision Standard.

Arrival have recently joined forces with Royal Mail to supply nine trial electric vans and trucks in th 3.5 tonne and 6 and 7 tonne weight categories to transport mail between distribution centres.

The SC projects team are currently in the manufacturing stage of a custom truss build for the production facility of Arrival. This will be the first of several for the factory, providing the open plan factory floor with defined bays for building their modular electric lorries. The truss will allow direct overhead lighting fixtures and its movable nature means easy relocation, allowing the production floor to be easily remodelled as vehicle production increases.
